April 21 (Bloomberg) - Nomura Holdings Inc. has hired Mark Leahy at the head of the debt origination and fixed income for Asia AETERNA syndicate as it expands its activities of debt in the region.Leahy reporting JHA Rajpal, head of fixed income Asia AETERNA, and Patrick Schmitz-Morkramer, head of investment banking for Asia AETERNA, according to a statement by email of the Japanese Bank. "We are confident that Mark, in this dual role, will help accelerate our momentum and expand our footprint, Schmitz-Morkramer said in the statement.Leahy previous roles include five years with Deutsche Bank AG in Singapore, working for the syndication of debt primary bank companies, the statement said. He is also Chief of AETERNA Asia Union of fixed income at UBS AG, from 2001 to 2004, he said.More recently, Leahy co-founded came from private investment, a company of brokerage based in Melbourne, said the statement.Leahy will be based in Singapore, and shared his time between the City-State and Hong Kong, a person familiar with the case said earlier today, asking not to be identified as the details are private.
