Cooking show celebrity Ken Kostick dies

Ken Kostick, better known as a sassy TV show hosts, what is for dinner, the kitchen is dead, its Director of business and its partner said.

The author of books of kitchen and host TV died in Toronto on Thursday afternoon, Desi Cabrera said in a release published online.

Kostick has suffered acute pancreatitis in February and suffered a complication this month here, while recovering at home, said Cabrera.

(CP) Born in 1953 in Winnipeg, Kostick has explored different careers - including travel and as agent modeling fashion - industry before a friend, who had just received one of the parties of a self-taught cook, dinner in Toronto invited him at a television cooking show.

The result was the prize Gemini-named what is for dinner, which featured Kostick trading comical banter with co-host Mary Jo Eustace they prepared meals together.

I just want everybody not know a fantastic person on television and on the outside, "Eustace told CBC News Network, on the telephone from California."

Eustache said friends of Kostick will organize a special Memorial.

"Ken is not on the severity,", said Eustace. "What we want is include all foods he loved as perogies and people that he loved to laugh and share a story about him.".

The show made its debut in 1995 on the network of life, and based on the report on the camera of the pair, continued for more than 600 episodes. He was finally in syndication for broadcast on other Canadian networks (including CBC - TV) and in the world.

Also, the duo joined later lifestyle shows, including TV He Said, She Said with Ken & Mary Jo and reunited in 2007 as co-hosts radio proud Toronto 103.9 FM station morning show.

Other projects for TV included Ken Kostick and company, one of the first shows on Food Network Canada and the counter at the Kitchen Table.

Over the years, Kostick has published more than a dozen cookbooks, most recently the charm of $10. He served as an advertisement of celebrities, including for the firm of kitchen gadgets Starfrit and had opened a catering business called Gourmet by Ken Kostick.
