The Egypt military leaders to review case detainee

The Egypt military leaders say that they are reviewing the cases of young demonstrators imprisoned following the mass protests that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak.

Announcement on Thursday of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces - the body of the top generals who took over after the eviction of Mubarak in mid-February - aims to defuse tensions with the youth movement that led the popular uprising of the Egypt.

The Council says "cases of youth" recently developed judgment "will be reconsidered."

The announcement comes a day after Mubarak and his two sons were detained during investigations on corruption, abuse of power and killings of demonstrators.

Activists complained that the military leaders are reminiscent of Mubarak regime, put demonstrators in military prisons or on swift trials before military courts.
