
Former Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich second corruption trial is set to get underway with almost all of the same evidence that the first trial, just packaged and presented in a whole new way.
Potential jurors were to begin to fill out questionnaires on Wednesday meant to help eliminate any person with a strong bias for or against the ousted Democratic Governor, who served from 2003 to 2009 before its removal from the Office.
Since the first trial of the Blagojevich last year which ended with the jury deadlocked on all but one count, federal prosecutors have honed and simplified their case, surrender of the racketeering charges complex to address complaints by the previous Board that the evidence was too difficult to follow.
